Silent Images

Masood Hussain is an award winning artist/sculptor from Kashmir. Trained at the Sir J.J Institute of Applied Arts, Mumbai, numerous exhibitions of his works have been held across the India and abroad. One of his most acclaimed works is a 30 Foot tall, Stone Sculpture Fountain with form based on Islamic Calligraphy titled “Allah”, installed at Badam Vaer in Srinagar. Masood Hussain was born in Srinagar on the 15th June 1953. Masood has brought alive the magic of his beautiful land in all his works through his imagination and art, be it his vivid ‘trademark’, watercolor paintings, installation art, works in relief or stone sculptures. Trained at Sir J.J Institute of Applied Arts, Mumbai, numerous exhibitions of his works have been held across the country, as well as abroad. He has also received many awards and commendations, notable among them being the recognition for his work at Raj Bhavan, Srinagar and Jammu; the Dogra Ratan Award for promotion of Dogri History and Culture, Budshah Award by J&’K Bank , Bakshi Memorial Award of Honor and the Professional Photography Award by All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society. One of his most acclaimed works is a 30 Foot tall, Stone Sculpture Fountain with form based on Islamic Calligraphy titled “Allah”, installed at Badam Vaer in Srinagar.
