“Stan”, one of Eminem’s most famous tracks, was released on Eminem’s third album, The Marshall Mathers LP, in November 2000. It tells the story of Stan, a fan who looks up to Eminem’s alter ego, Slim Shady. Over four verses, however, Stan becomes disillusioned and his mental health deteriorates with tragic consequences.

generally like rapper Sofia Ashraf’s work. I was impressed by her video on lead poisoning in Kodaikanal by Unilever. I watched her latest song ‘Can’t Do Sexy’, and I must say that it was not something I expected out of such a conscientious artist. Almost everything that can and is wrong for a woman regarding her body is glorified in this rap.

Together, they are Cryptographik Street Poets (CSP) a rap act in Shillong, Meghalaya. Touched by the civil rights/black power movements in intangible ways, their sigil is the raised fist of solidarity and revolution, the Black Panther Party logo. Although they live in separate homes with their parents, they are in constant society with each other.
